His Expectations

What He Expects Of You

Riddle: What takes little effort, results in great riches, has no downside, but most are unwilling to do?  Answer to follow later on.

We are to accept and love our Creator as Lord.  You are to love your neighbor as yourself, (become “other” vs. “me” focused).  Note that the key word in these commands is “love”.  Real Love is not so much a feeling as portrayed in movies, but an action verb.

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the Truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love requires you to know and proclaim Truth, to be intentional and rational; love is not blind.  Love is the act of self sacrifice.

Our Creator admires Truth seekers.  Of those who don’t seek Truth, He thinks it is both sad and humorous that some worship idols and false gods, because idols are nothing but inanimate materials and the false gods have done nothing to prove themselves worthy.

His promise is that He will help you grow and mature, that He will not loose you, and that you will go to Heaven if you accept Him as your Lord and try to turn from doing wrongs.

Now you know the answer to the riddle.

Does not it make sense that our Creator would love those who seek AND respond to Real Truth.  Conversely, why would our Creator want to spend eternity with those who have chosen to ignore His existence, &/or not accept His lordship, &/or not attempt to follow His commands.  To those He grants their chosen desire to be separate from Him or His dictates.  This is what Hell truly is, eternal separation from Him.

Author’s personal note – As a youth I used to have nightmares that would drive me literally mad they were so horrific.  They were so terrible that I could not remember anything about them, until one time I woke up at the very start of the nightmare.  I discovered that the nightmare was that I somehow grasped eternity, and the maddening part was that I was sentenced to nothingness for entity.  As an adult, I now realize I was given a very real taste of what Hell is like.  I can see that even in the absence of any torment, the shear anguish of regret for not making a decision that has eternally negative consequences can be totally maddening.

Though what our Creator asks is reasonable and is within His rights, no one is able to fulfill all of His commands in thought, word, and deed, 100% of the time.  A great problem then exists, how can you, being imperfect and disobedient to some degree, reconcile yourself to a perfect Creator ..................
